As drummer for Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP), Asia, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Atomic Rooster, and the Carl Palmer Band, Palmer has significantly impacted the sound of popular music and the rhythmic boundaries within. He was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 10 Greatest Drummers of All Time. Over the last decade, Palmer has focused a significant amount of time into his art career. Working with art team SceneFour, Palmer is one of the pioneers of a new medium, Rhythmic Expressionism. His first comprehensive collection, Twist of the Wrist (2013), featured 200 total canvases and sold out at a remarkable speed. His 2014 follow up collection The Rhythm of Light was also highly sought after with collectors worldwide.
Now in 2021, Carl returns to the creation of fine art to honor the 50th Anniversary of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Over the course of 12 months, Palmer will be releasing five different works, each limited to just 50 pieces worldwide.
